Founder of American Cannabis Company in Oklahoma City, OK
Meet Chris Beatie, the visionary behind one of Oklahoma City’s leading medical marijuana dispensaries.
Chris Beatie, founder of American Cannabis Company, has helped shape the medical marijuana industry in Oklahoma City by building a network of dispensaries focused on quality, accessibility, and patient care. His journey began not with a grandiose business plan but with a love for cannabis and the belief that it could be more—more accessible, more innovative, and more impactful for those who need it.

Why American Cannabis Company exists
Chris Beattie didn’t come to cannabis through a business plan. He came through the plant. Long before Oklahoma passed State Question 788 and stood up the OMMA program, he watched patients navigate an unregulated market where potency was a guess, contaminants were invisible, and the label on a jar rarely matched what was inside.
When Oklahoma opened its medical program, Chris saw an opening to build a dispensary group that answered the questions patients had been asking for years: What’s actually in this? Who tested it? Would you give it to your own family?
Ten-plus years and 12 licensed OMMA locations later, that’s still the operating principle.

Quality, defined by testing — not marketing
“Quality is subjective to some extent. But for us, it starts with safety,” Chris says. Every batch American Cannabis Co. sells is screened by an OMMA-licensed laboratory for the five contaminant categories Oklahoma requires: pesticides, heavy metals, microbials, mycotoxins, and residual solvents — plus full cannabinoid and terpene profiling.
Those results are posted on the Certificate of Analysis page, kept behind the counter at every location, and available to any patient who asks. Batches that fail an OMMA action limit don’t reach the retail floor.
Twelve dispensaries — and one standard

American Cannabis Co. operates in Oklahoma City, Warr Acres, Newcastle, Moore, Midwest City, Quail Springs, Mustang, Chickasha, Lawton, Enid, and Stillwater. Each store carries the same menu, the same batch COAs, and the same trained budtenders — because a medical patient who moves between towns shouldn’t get a different product experience at each stop.
What's next
- A new processing facility that brings extraction and edible production under one roof — tighter control from harvest to package.
- AAA Wholesale services for other OMMA-licensed dispensaries, growers, and processors who want access to the same tested inventory.
- Continued patient education — the blog and in-store consultation program exist so patients understand strains, delivery methods, and dosing before they buy.
"How do your philanthropic efforts align with your business values?"
Giving back to Oklahoma
“Kids are the future. If providing access to a computer can change a child’s life, that’s the kind of investment we want to make.” Chris and the American Cannabis Co. team fund two ongoing community efforts:
Computers for Oklahoma students
An ongoing donation program that puts working computers into the hands of underserved kids across the OKC metro. Read more on the community blog.
Discounted product for cancer patients
OMMA-cardholding cancer patients qualify for reduced pricing on tinctures, edibles, and other formats commonly used in symptom management. Ask any budtender for the current program terms.
